GRECS researchers develop PandemonCAT, a web application to track updated data on the pandemic
2/06/2025The web application 'Monitoring the Pandemic in Catalonia (PandemonCAT)' (www.udg.edu/pandemoncat) allows monitoring of the COVID-19 pandemic in Catalonia.
In a first phase, which has already been launched, the application shows the vaccination data, the evolution of the weekly and accumulated percentages of vaccinated people and the dose -first or complete schedule- in the different Basic Health Areas.
Through maps and graphs, it provides information on the population as a whole and segmented by age groups, since the vaccination process began in Catalonia. All the data generated is permanently updated and can be downloaded. It is planned that later it will incorporate the results of the diagnostic tests, transmission, hospitalization, admissions to ICUs and the number of deaths.
It also wants to "show the influence of socioeconomic and environmental variables on the spread in space and time of the SARS-CoV2 infection and its incidence on mortality and morbidity."
PandemonCAT is one of the results of the project "Epidemiology of COVID-19. Environmental and socioeconomic factors in the spatio-temporal evolution of the pandemic", led by GRECS researchers Marc Saez and María Antonia Barceló and with Som Chaudhuri and Gerard Giménez i Adsuar. The Andalusian School of Public Health and the University of Granada have also been part of the project financed by public and private institutions of Catalan, state and international scope.
