Both my presentations and the courses I have taught reflect, in some way, the history of my research activity. In all cases, I have always tried to provide them with a didactic aspect, since teaching constitutes an important part of my profile, along with research.
Association between exposure to environmental factors and the occurrence of ALS in Catalonia

The specific methods for describing the prevalence and incidence of diseases, as well as variations in health variables at the geographic level, particularly in small areas, will be explained.
Statistical methods for spatial data analysis will be explained and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will be introduced for the analysis of spatially referenced data and for the elaboration of health data maps.
The statistical software environments R and R Studio will be used, as well as the R INLA package.

The objective of the course is to provide a practical overview of the key concepts of relative survival, with a particular emphasis on modeling excess mortality and modeling time-dependent effects (excess risk non-proportional hazards).
The course is intended to be essentially practical, using the free software platform R, and, to a lesser extent, the software, also free, WinBUGS.
