In this presentation, we make an introduction in which we talk about the coronavirus and the situation of COVID-19 as of February 16, 2021, both globally and in Spain and its autonomous communities.
After this, we explain the research being carried out by the Research Group in Statistics, Econometrics and Health (GRECS) on this topic, as well as the different projects that we have underway related to COVID-19.
Finally, we present the results of a systematic review that we are currently conducting. We intend to highlight the different methodological problems that the numerous articles that analyse the influence of socioeconomic and environmental factors (meteorological variables and air pollutants) on the spatio-temporal dynamics of the pandemic, have committed. After pointing them out, we comment on the influence that failure to control them may have on the conclusions derived from these articles.
